Caretaker Position Vacancy

Covenant Christian School is seeking expressions of interest in a Caretaker position at the School to commence late April 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.

This vacancy has arisen because the School’s long term janitor/gardener is taking a term’s long service leave and then plans to retire thereafter.

The position can either be either a part or full-time one with some flexibility in times available, and paid at above-award rates.  This is a permanent position (after a probationary period of 6 months) that is expected to transition to a Property Manager role for the person with the appropriate skill as the School grows.

The work includes some basic handyman jobs, gardening, cleaning and general security matters (eg. ensuring doors/gates are locked). Also desirable would be a light rigid bus license, but this is not essential.  What is essential is a good work ethic and the desire to see the School’s grounds and facilities presented in best possible way to be a blessing to all who come on site.

All our staff are expected to model a consistent Christian life as they work among our students each day.

NOTE:  [For Primary teachers] An appreciation of an intensive phonics-based language program (eg. Spalding / LEM Phonics) is highly desirable. Training will be provided if required for Primary teachers.
